Restore Your Smile with A Single-tooth Dental Implant

Dental Implants Replace Missing Teeth

If you are missing a tooth or have a tooth that needs to be removed and replaced, it is very likely that this can be accomplished with a dental implant. You will always have a tooth in the area while the treament progresses. Dr. Bruce Wiland can rebuild your smile with natural looking, affordable dental implants. Contact us today for an appointment.

A dental implant replaces the tooth root. A dental implant may be the best option to replace a single tooth as it does not sacrifice the health of the teeth surrounding it. Often people chose to replace their missing tooth with a bridge or a partial, which may require the cutting down of healthy, adjacent teeth, often sacrificing the health and bone quality of these teeth. Dr. Wiland has extensive training and years of experience in the placement of dental implants. He would place the dental implant and then allow it to heal for about 2-3 months. You always have a nice looking temporary in areas that can be seen. After the dental implant fuses with the bone during the 2-3 month healing period, an abutment is placed onto the dental implant. An abutment is a piece of metal that connects to the dental implant. The crown is then permanently connected to the abutment. In some cases the dental implant can be placed, the abutment connected and a temporary crown placed all within the same appointment.

Dental implants integrate with the jawbone, keeping the bone healthy and preserved. Implants are esthetically pleasing and easy to keep clean. The patient will be able to brush and floss the implant just as if it were a real tooth. Dental cleanings and exams are still necessary just as usual.
